Tulaipanji Rice, non-par boiled (atap)
With love, from Bengal
Tulaipanji birthed itself in earth as a blessing from God to Basudev, a poor farmer. The folk rice variants of Bengal are as fascinating as its folklores and our Tulaipanji is no exception!
This GI tagged ancient folk rice represented our unbeatable culinary culture at the 2012 London Olympics! Aromatic and soft like cotton (Tulan), that’s what Tulaipanji means and tastes like. Its heady aroma, makes this non-basmati rice a great pick for Pulao, Fried rice, Biryani and desserts like Pithe, Payesh and local delicacies. We often use it as our rojer chaal (Our everyday rice) as well.
The ESF Tulaipanji comes from Raigunj, where the meticulous love from our farmers brings together the right amount of moisture, soil health, traditional and native methods of growing that determine the quality of the rice.
This rice needs one meal to get you addicted. We bet!
