Kasundi Chicken Sandwich
If you love café-style sandwiches and often think about how to make them quickly at home—especially for office or school lunch boxes—then this Kasundi Chicken Sandwich recipe is for you! With a bit of preparation in advance, you can whip these sandwiches up in under 15 minutes. Just make sure you have boiled chicken and hung curd ready, and you’ll be set to make them the next morning. They’re also light on the stomach, making them perfect for busy work hours.
As I started making these sandwiches at home, they quietly became a favourite among my family. Curious about what made them so appealing, I asked my mother. She replied that it’s the addition of Kasundi that makes all the difference. Kasundi blends beautifully with the other ingredients in the chicken filling, enhancing the overall subtle flavours with a unique punch of mustard.
Sandwiches like this are also great for brunches and high-tea parties. So make sure to include them on the menu when planning for a weekend gathering.

Kasundi is more than just a Bengali mustard sauce; it’s a condiment that represents Bengal’s culinary pride. While every Bengali vouch for that, we often use it only as a simple accompaniment to shaak bhaja or as a dip for croquettes, overlooking its true potential. Growing up, I rarely saw anyone preparing dishes with Kasundi. However, during my food explorations, I have created numerous recipes featuring Kasundi and have noticed that many chefs and recipe creators also use Kasundi in their recipes. It’s a wonderful feeling to see Kasundi getting the recognition it deserves.
The difference between basic mustard sauce and Kasundi lies in the blend of traditional spices and the unique process of making it, which contributes to its matured flavour. A good-quality Kasundi, like Earth Story Farms, can truly enhance the flavour profile of any dish. This particular Kasundi is my favorite because it offers numerous health benefits and is rich in micronutrients.
I hope you enjoy making these sandwiches soon and sharing them with your family and friends.
